Linked: Straight Talk and iOS versus Android

Try to buy a phone in San Francisco for Straight Talk Wireless, a pay as you go provider who sells phones for cost w/ no contract or extra fees.

iPhones Available 11 (iPhone 5S, 6 and 6S in only 16GB Storage)

Android Phones Available 62

Android Phones here range from free to $200 with the majority of these being under $50. iPhones starts at $150 to $500. Another interesting thing, the iPhones Straight Talk sells are only Apple’s 16GB model whereas most of the Android phones have a Micro SD slot where the storage can be increased to 64GB with as little as $20 spent on Amazon.

The point of this post was when you see Android beating Apple, no one should be surprised.

I have a friend who has a $50 Straight Talk Android she bought last year. Clicking the power button, wait 3 seconds and the screen appears. Open Facebook, wait 10 seconds, click post a photo, wait 10 seconds and she’s constantly deleting content to save space on the phone. The phone is slow or it could have a Worm / Virus and she doesn’t know because why would she pay an annual fee to Norton for antivirus on her $50 phone?

She wants an iPhone and was amazed that they have ones for $150 but then I had to convince her from that because the 16GB model simply wouldn’t be enough w/o lowering her overall satisfaction.

Android will consistently win the market share race just as Windows did in the 90s. A $99 laptop over a $999 laptop is no contest and that’s what we’re seeing here.
