Fastnacht Day, a tradition occurring in some circles for hundreds of years has been made more popularly culturally by the video game Fallout. After hearing about this event on Atlas Obscura, I made a plan to visit if the timing worked out. In fact, I have hotel reservations in Helvetia, WV for 2025’s Fascnacht day (limited rooms in town so hotels are booked 2-3 years out), but on a motorcycle with no snow on the forecast, I was able to visit and enjoy this event but still plan on going back next year with Heather and Matilda.
