Overcast 1.0 was designed for the iPhone 5S. Some fundamentals needed to be revisited now that the vast majority of my customers are on 4.7- and 5.5-inch screens.
I’ve been using it for 1.5 months. Still hate the redesign
- CarPlay use is still buggy. You have to start playing an episode via the iPhone for it to start in the car or you get no audio at all or a blank now-playing screen w/o any context and the buttons don’t work
- I miss slide to delete
- The effects I constantly fooled around with and now they’re buried
- I have to tap twice to play an episode, tap twice again to change the effects
- I don’t use playlists and these are now a primary feature. Playlists are for people with too many podcasts. I subscribe to 5 podcasts. I don’t need to manage things beyond “all episodes” and I don’t keep a backlog
