Linked: “Apple’s New Jacksonville Store Opens March 11”

via MacRumors:

Apple’s new 9,100-square-foot store is situated between Tesla and Tory Burch stores near the southeast end of the Town Center. The space, which was vacated by Forever 21 last year, is over twice as large as its current store, which opened in March 2005. The older location will likely close by Saturday

I was a key holder at that Apple Store from Opening day for about 12 months. It was too small then. I can’t believe how painful it was for a 30-foot store staff to manage given how popular the iPhone has been. That store needed an expansion in 2007!

It was crazy reading the comments and seeing one of my reports post a comment echoing my sentiments. I should send him an email.

I have a lot of photos & documents saved from my time at that store. It’s been over 10 years and long past Apple’s standard NDA which I don’t think carries over to photos of the store’s front of house (consumer space) but I’ll probably wait another 10 years. I still work in technology and want to keep that part of life in the distant past for another decade.
