My House: 01-26-2017 Update – Another week behind schedule due to scheduling conflicts

January 28th Exterior

We are delayed another week. Basically, the drywall should be done by now and Heather and I would have spent the weekend painting. Instead, I show up Friday to 1 wall hung, the ceiling hung and the house in no position to be painted. Sigh.

drywall will be finished this Thursday instead of last Thursday and painting this weekend followed by flooring and other things to happen next week. we’re basically 2 full weeks out from living there at the minimum but it could be 3 weeks if the plumbing, electrical or kitchen countertops are delayed.

I took some photos of the back of the house. Next major work on this place will be replacing the vinyl siding and wrapping the house in a Tyvec-like material. The house is not wrapped it’s just vinyl on wood.

Also, Solar will be installed next week (finally) and here’s the final design overview:

New Solar Design - January 2017

As far as production, I’ll be making 7500 kilowatt hours a year with the current tree shading. That figure will bump up 25% best case depending on how many trees I remove. Averaging 700KW a month when I’ve used only 250 a month for the past few years will be a nice extra income that will help me pay off the panels faster.
