4.2/5

750ML Bottle picked up at the brewery. Stored upright in the fridge for a few months at 39F and split 2 ways into Teku stemware.

A – Good cap pop, no gushing at all. Pour yielded a 2 finger off-white to brown head. The beer looks brown to black in the glass but against the light, it’s really a dark red.

S – Dark fruit aroma, apples, fig, grape. Very funky with a bit of wine tannic aroma.

T – Flavor is nice. Dark fruit, red wine, oak, fudge and raspberries.

M – Has a seltzer / pellegrino mouthfeel, dense with a thin finish.

O – Overall, I’m a huge fan of this beer. Might be my favorite of the series at this point in its life. CD4 at 3 years old still remains my top for dark saisons.
