So it came as a very fitting climax of our year to have a brand new presentation by the wonderful Maciej Cegłowski at Web Directions 2015 a few weeks ago: The Website Obesity Crisis.
53 minutes long, throw this up on your AppleTV via AirPlay and sit back. Very entertaining. I spent a few hours after the video cleaning up this blog. The main page is 600KB and 80% of that is images. I can do a better job and perhaps not display images unless someone chooses to click through to a post. Before the talk, I was at 1.8 megabytes per page load.
