For reasons outlined last week, I wanted to cancel my iTunes Match account. The steps were pretty straightforward.
- Visit http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/
- Click “Contact Support”
- Click “Contact iTunes Store support”
- Click, “Purchases, Billing & Redemption”
- Click, “The topic is not listed”
- You can put anything in the reason box. Type a bunch of text and click next and you’ll be taken to an option to send an email.
- When you fill out everything make sure you find the email where Apple confirmed your $24.99 iTunes Match purchase. My order number started with MGJ. Be very friendly, give your reasons for cancelling. It took 24 hours for someone to ask me if I was sure and when I confirmed, a day later they refunded my full $24.99 purchase price despite that Match was last renewed in November. If they have my history, they’ll see I’ve been a Match subscriber since the day it was announced so I’m guess for the time being, they’re doing full refunds given the removal of radio from our subscription.
