I received this 2 ounce sample from a friend and was really impressed so I decided to post some notes here:
Color
: Amber orange grapes juice
Aroma: honey, cinnamon and clove aroma. With baked cookies and orange marmalade.
Taste: Lots of port wine with rye spice that lingers. Orange, cinnamon, burnt tobacco. A lot of brown sugar. Finish is a little rubbing alcohol with clove. I was really impressed with this. I wonder how this whiskey differs from Midwinter Night’s Dram that also is finished in Port Barrel. The ABV is certainly higher. This was a great thing to try.
