4.2
A – This is possibly the darkest stout I’ve ever had. Pitch black, zero light transfer. Not only that, a 4 finger black head that fades over the course of like 5 minutes. Looks like melted ice cream.
S – Smells very good. A lot like vanilla ice cream and the rum is for sure very apparent and a nice compliment to the sweet dessert like base beer but I don’t get as much coffee aroma.
T – Sweeter than the base, rum starts in the middle and lingers and the roasted qualities of the base are very subdued. In fact, there’s not an overwhelming coffee taste anymore. More light and less acidic. Vanilla is still very apparent. The rum adds a lot of depth
M – Dense, thick, a lot of carbonation.
O – This is a fantastic Imperial Stout. Wow.
