I always stop at DHVL to have some beers. It wasn’t a big affair as I went alone. I had stew (of course) and some mashed baked apples. I also had a 1999 3 Fonteinen Kriek and a 2010 Orval. I was going to order more but decided to save my beer appetite for a tasting that night.
The Oude Kriek was amazing. The cork pop was huge, the pour was perfect and flavor was spot on. Gives me some excitement for the 2003/2005 bottles I have aging in the cellar.
