★ Schilling Beer Company in Littleton, NH

Schilling Beer - New Hampshire

Schilling Beer Company opened in 2014 and it is the most northern NH brewery after Woodstock Inn and Seven Barrel. A quick glance at the NH brewery map and you’ll see that very few breweries exist north of Concord and that’s because the state’s population drops off a cliff as I’ve written about many times before on my other blog. 97% of the state of New Hampshire’s population lives south of me. Seven Barrel’s beers are uninspired and Woodstock Inn is trying to appeal to masses. So when I leave my house, I got to Vermont. I can avoid the souther NH / Mass traffic and almost every beer made in Vermont is pretty darn good.

I heard about Schilling up in Littleton. They’re 90 minutes north of me (a little further than Hill Farmstead from me) and they have growlers, food and 13 taps.

I was pretty blown away by their quality of beers. Most are European inspired, there are 2 wild ales on tap, a very clean Kolsch, 5 Belgian ales made in a very traditional way and the food looked appetizing although I didn’t partake.

I can’t remember the last time a brewpub impressed me so much. You guys have to check it out. Their shop is 30 minutes east of St. Johnsbury VT.
