Last month, for some reason, I indicated that this month’s haul would be small. In fact, I didn’t spend much on beer this month but guys that owed me beer came out of the woodwork and loaded up my proverbial porch with great beers. I did send our 3 boxes in May and some of these are purchases. Overall, it was a good month but sort of a weird month because I haven’t drink almost any of the beers pictured. I’ve been trying to cut back on my calories so I’ve been drinking more bourbon instead of beer to save calories so I will be consuming more of these beers that require being enjoyed fresh like the pale ales. As usual, the buying more than I can drink problem doesn’t appear to be going away any time soon.
I won’t be adding captions to these photos since I’m overloaded with work tasks this week. You’ll just have to figure out what these bottles are on your own. Each photo is clickable for a larger version.
If I where to buy a case of beer, it would be either Heady Topper or Drie Fontenien Guezue. What’s the price per bottle on those?
Golden Blend is a unique Gueuze..it has the addition of 25% of 4-year old Lambic. Average price around Boston is $30 a bottle. I got it for $12.50 through a friend. I think $20 a 12oz is average for this whereas it’s usually $20 for a 750 of regular Oude Gueuze and yes I agree.
I think Cantillon makes terrific fruit lambic but Armand is a wonderful blender and makes the best gueuze in the world
