For the longest time, I experimented with too many brewing methods at home. Pour-Over to Chemex to French Press to Espresso. I eventually settled to a default which is Chemex with a Paper filter. I picked up a Koava Cone but never figured out how to use it. It let in far too much sediment into my cup even on a french press grind.
When I settled on Chemex, I followed the Stumptown how-to page. I think this Brew Methods page is very cool. Most new coffee geeks should just buy an AeroPress, read the first guide and stick with that. I love Chemex but a lot of people don’t like how many parts it has but anyway, AeroPress is great and the Brew Methods site rocks.
Take up brewing your own coffee in 2013. You’ll save a lot of money.
