RIM to discontinue Wi-Fi BlackBerry PlayBook?
In a note to investors Monday afternoon, RBC Capital Markets Managing Director Mike Abramsky reiterated an OTR Global report that Research In Motion is possibly planning to stop production of the BlackBerry PlayBook’s Wi-Fi model.
A) Don’t ask your readers if RIM will discontinue the Wi-Fi PlayBook. Do some god damn research.
B) So, a guy that works at RBC Capital Markets (not a technical guy but a guy working at an analyst firm) reiterated a report from OTR Global that RIM is “POSSIBLY” going to stop production on the PlayBook.
C) This says specifically, the “Wi-Fi Blackberry PlayBook”
D) This says nothing of the cellular models
E) Idiotic geeks will read this as “Rim Kills BlackBerry PlayBook”
Line E is the line that bothers me the most. Geeks won’t read between the lines and, instead, feel angry at RIM and comment on BGR with “OMG SRSLY!?!? Who’s running that place?” and tweet out, “RIM Kills PlayBook”
Relax. I’ll believe this “report” when I see the PlayBook Killed off. It’s business as usual until that day. My dream project of starting a blog that keeps track of and calls out tech blogs for being wrong is sounding more and more appealing each day. I’d love to partner with someone on it. Keep track of blogs who post shit like this, wait for that rumor to never come true (1 year later sounds about right) and then remind everyone how stupid they were for believing it. We should also keep track of which tech blogs says idiotic things the most.
