★ Jorge Quinteros is on FIRE Lately

On The Topic of DNG Conversion:

DNG is Adobe’s attempt to create an across-the-board and openly documented raw image file format. There’s a lot of pros and cons on the subject and the best way to see which format suits you, I suggest reading this Adobe article on DNG as a starting point.

The Why on Photographing Solo:

When you’re companionless, you become much more aware of your surroundings and those who are in it. With a group, there’s a tendency to get absorbed in your own tight circle and you focus on what’s happening with you and your friends while neglecting everything else around. When it’s only you and your camera the internal experience of sightseeing is different.

Technical Knowledge is Not That Important:

You have to adjust as you go along and eventually these small yet significant details will become secondary. You don’t completely erased them however you don’t obsess about them either because that would simply take away from the joy of driving. Technical knowledge is vitally important but it isn’t everything.

This is how I WISH my photo blog to be if I had one. Jorge’s work isn’t the best work I’ve ever seen. It’s quality and it’s better than my photography but it’s not THE BEST. No matter, he’s sharing his work, his insight and his thoughts with other photographers and that’s what matters. These are just three excerpts of his posts from this week and I encourage you subscribe to his blog. It’s a very polished destination for photographers.
