My Car: Opti-Coat’s Hydrophobic Properties + Rain + Below Freezing Temps = Awesome

Opti-Coat's Hydrophobic Properties + Rain + Below Freezing Temps = AwesomeQuick post before I start my day, I got up this morning and it was below freezing for a bit last night and we had some rain before midnight. The Opti-Coat Pro Plus Ceramic coating on my car has hydrophobic properties that force water to bead and repel with a little bit of wind. Drying this car over the last few months has been a breeze. Now that Winter is fast approaching, I’m observing the cool effect this is having on the car. The water that fell from the sky beaded up and froze with nearly zero air-bubbles. So you get this awesome look. The ice particles flew off the car as soon as I started driving since the Opti-Coat keeps them from really sticking to the vehicle. It’ll be interesting to see how the treatment changes my ice / snow brushing routine once we’re fully into Winter.

For now, it just looks really cool! Next time I catch it, I’ll use the 5D instead of my iPhone. The quality is a bit weak in this shot.
