It’s Friday the 27th and we have what looks like a house! Of course….so much more to get done. Framing has to finish, windows, doors, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, insulation, flooring, drywall, paint, roofing, garage slab, garage door, excavation of the driveway down 12″, new asphalt, fencing, landscaping, shed, garage floor covering….but who’s counting?
16 Weeks of living with my in-laws 30 minutes north of our home driving Matilda 30 minutes to day care every day, living out of suitcases and sleeping next to our baby in bed. it’s been tough for everyone. We still have about 2 months before we’re even close to done. Already 4 months in so 2 months doesn’t feel like that far away but we’re thinking by the 1st week of May as earliest completion date. We’ll just have to. see.
Here’s this week’s video:
And here are photos from the past week:

We realized a few weeks ago that since we’re doing a stick-built roof, we can do something more custom so we initially pushed for 8′ ceiling from 7′ which is what we initially specified. but once we realized we could go higher, we did! Here’s the crew showing collar ties at 9 feet versus 10.5′ at the front of the house and we went with the higher amount since it’d only cost $250 more to do that with most of that being drywall costs.
