Week one was pretty awesome with how much got done. I’m impressed and while I’m writing this in week 2, this project is going to b a lot of fun and I feel like what we’re actually spending for the amount of work being done is very reasonable. Week one included:
- Demolition of the 2nd bedroom (tipped the scales at 3 tons at the dump)
- Demolition of the front patio and rock wall (original and failing stone wall and lots of erosion with an invasive shrub)
- Demolition of all road-facing dirt, rocks and debris (very large stones came out)
- Digging out 300 cubic yards of dirt, rock, shale, bedrock fom beside my house (I think over 30 dump truck loads so far)
- A completely brand new Redi-Rock wall that’s the first of its kind from Carrol concrete (they had a celebratory business meeting on my porch today with high fives and a lot of people in suits) that will make space for a 15×40 patio system with outdoor kitchen and fire pit. this wall is built and they’re now filling it in
I posted a 40 minute introduction to the project on YouTube last month before we closed on the construction loan:
Here’s the 1st week of construction in video:
