While you may have your “traditional television” skinny bundle, you’re still going to have to augment this with Netflix and Amazon and iTunes and Google Play. Even if/when the latter three have their own “traditional television” bundles (probably at a discount if you subscribe to their other services), many people will undoubtedly still want/need multiple offerings.
So again, bundles of bundles.
I hope traditional media companies continue to hang themselves here and then turn to a company “they don’t fully understand” and give Apple the keys to do as they will. An update on our cord-cutter household which I’ve never had a cord but anyway… We have DirectTV Now which my GF uses to watch all of those awful reality shows. That’s a $35 a month bundle and it comes with commercials. i won’t watch commercials and this is not for me. She also subscribes to Netflix which I do watch some of their original programing on Netflix because it looks nice in 4K. I have Amazon Prime but not for the content but I have enjoyed a few of their shows. Then, there’s everything else which I’ll continue to acquire unofficially until Apple finally offers me a way to pay for only the TV shows I want to watch in an affordable way.
