AirPods come with a standard one-year warranty which will cover a defective battery—but not normal wear and tear. Apple will charge $50 for battery service for the AirPods and charging case.
And if you lose your charging case or a single AirPod, Apple will charge $70 for each AirPod and $70 to replace the case. Out of warranty repairs for the case and AirPods are also $70 each.
The headline and the article are factually incorrect.
It’s $49 for battery service and $69 for a replacement. It’s absolutely irresponsible to state anything different from the facts. As a journalist, you don’t round up.
