The point: we could come up with a Consumer Reports-like rating for all sites that indicates how much they participate in the open web at a content level.
That’s a truly brilliant idea. We’re now a web full of silos. Some of these mean – well but don’t do much for us and others truly have a “own it all” mentality for greed or simply shareholder approvals but if we knew which silos were the best of the worst, it might inform and educate the public.
