But what about the Apple products that seem to sometimes go years without a refresh? There are more than a few of them, and while some occasionally find themselves in the rumor spotlight, others just continue chugging along as they are—perhaps doomed to an evolutionary dead-end, or maybe to be resurrected when Apple decides the moment is ripe.
Good list but I have my own that I think need refreshing / improving.
- Mesh Airport Network that connects to a central wired router that contains a USB-C port for a hard disk for Time Machine backups. I’d buy an 8 terabyte HDD and have turn-key backups for all devices along with Apple Routing & a mesh wifi network.
- Updated displays 27+30” in 5K resolution would be fantastic
- Ergonomic keyboard and mouse
- iPod Touch w/ iPhone 7 internals
- iPod Nano with 128GB capacity
- Pro Apple earphones
- Bedside dock that charges iPhone + Apple Watch
- A true HomeKit Siri extension Amazon Echo style, maybe the WiFi Mesh cubes that go all over the house could play music and take Siri commands?
- A line of home kit accessories made by Apple or at least designed by Apple and manufactured by other companies?
- The return of the Mac Mini Server
- Return of the XServe / XServe RAID
