This year’s Zwanze Beer was good, it wasn’t great. I’m always pretty disappointed with the Zwanze beer and then I’ll have it from the bottle a year later and it’s just much better. I think time + bottle conditioning always help the Zwanze beers come alive. Since Hill Farmstead did not host an event this year, I decided it was the same driving distance going to Portland Maine as it is to Montreal so I went there instead.
Draft selection was the still Bruoscella Lambiek and they had bottles of Gueuze, Kriek, Rose and Fou Foune. I ordered one of everything along with a pour of Peche Mortel. Finally, after some food Heather and I had DDC’s Excorciste mixed-fermentation wheat ale.
It was a great day!
Eyeing that Zwanze!
