Health Improvements, Last 12 months

Once a year, we have a free screening @ work. The benefits to my employer is possibly savings on the health insurance policy but on an individual basis, I find this data interesting. I don’t have a doctor that I visit and haven’t had a physical in a few years so I rely on this and once a week weigh-in to see how I’m doing on a health scale.

Starting in May, I started trying to lose weight. No beer during the week and lower caloric intake along with less meat and no dairy except cheese. Can’t give up the cheese :)

Below is my 2014 Data:

Here is my 2015 Data:

Biometrics Data

A solid improvement in weight, BMI and Cholesterol. My HDL remains low but has improved and this is likely because I’m not eating a lot of substantial foods. I’m only 29 so my Blood pressure still seems to be on the edge of caution but at least it’s still in the green.

While we’re at it, here’s my Apple Health Weight / BMI from 2015. I use a Fitbit scale that syncs to Apple Health

I still have a lot of work to do toward being healthy as I enter my 30th year on Earth. I’d like to be down to 210 and a BMI of 20 but I’m not aggressively losing weight. I’m trying to do this in a safe and slow way. It took 9 years to get to 300 pounds from 220 so lowering in 2-3 years to a healthy weight again so I can maintain is the goal.

Looking forward to continuing this in 2016.
