I’ve enjoyed being an automatic customer. The first year was plagued with reliability issues and an overall lack of value for the $99. Automatic in 2015 didn’t see a price increase but their V2 Dongle with built in GPS and support for other driving applications as well as beefier statistics has been really great. No more does my phone fail to connect to the Automatic. Also, an Internet Stranger took my car out for a drive last week and Automatic kept track of his drive without my iPhone present which is really cool. It looks like he had a fun time:
I received an email from Automatic touting a visualized driving data tool they’ve published. Honestly, the data isn’t that impressive nor is it eye-opening. I’d give this a C for execution but I love that Automatic continues to find new ways to show data points in a visual way. Their online dashboard is fantastic.
