On day one of the conference, I just used my iPhone normally, until at some point in the early evening when it popped up a warning that only 20 percent of its battery life remained. This warning (and another one at 10 percent) have been in iOS for a while; what’s new in iOS 9 is that the warning prompts you to enable Low Power Mode.
My plan with my next iPhone is to consider carefully that I buy the iPhone 6S Plus 128GB in Gold and keep it on low-power mode full time every single day. I don’t mind reducing animations and restricting applications from using data in the background. If everything works as planned, I’ll have my first 24 hour iPhone battery life since ever! I miss the days of week-long Blackberry battery life and this seems to be the way to get back to that.
So exciting!
