Linked: “We’re Facing Star Wars Overload, And It Scares the Crap Out Of Me”

via io9:

There is a movie per year coming out through at least 2019. There’s The Force Awakens in 2015, Rogue One in 2016, Episode VIII in 2017, a Han Solo movie in 2018 and Episode IX in 2019. They’ll be more from there too (Boba Fett, Obi-Wan Kenobi and Yoda are each rumored to be getting movies) and that alone would be overwhelming enough, from a franchise that has cemented its popularity by releasing a new movie every 5.5 years in the last four decades or so (Seven movies over 38 years to be exact). They’re basically making Star Wars 500% more present on the big screen.

Thanks Disney. We all knew this was coming. Look at the Marvel Films upcoming releases. Superheroes even the comic book guy in the Simpsons hasn’t even heard of are getting feature films and there’s a new one every 2 months for the next 3 years. I vowed a year ago to never see another super hero movie produced by this money grubbing studio. Disney is doing it with LucasFilm as well.

I’ll watch the standard Star Wars movies but you can keep the spin-offs, tv shows and figurines. I’ll have no part in it.
