Coffee: M-ZO Tea & Co – Littleton, New Hampshire

M-ZO Tea & Co - Littleton, New Hampshire

Littleton, New Hampshire is quite the bustling town nestled in the white mountains in a part of New Hampshire that’s very sparsely populated. Based on my own travels, it’s the largest city in Northern New Hampshire with a population of 6,000 residents. Recently, the town has seen a huge revitalization of local businesses with the town promoting shopping local with development efforts centered around bring main street back. It’s very impressive and I keep hearing about Littleton as a place to visit for the day.

M-ZO Tea & Co. is one of those new businesses that’s locally owned and opened in Christmas of 2014. They serve Intelligentsia Coffee which is one of the larger 3rd wave coffee roasters and an assortment of teas. They offer Cold Brew, Espresso, Chemex, V60 Pour-Over and Drip Coffee. Cold Brew was out the day I visited but I tried everything else and was certainly impressed.

Very comfortable! There is an assortment of high-top seating and couches. A decent amount of plugs were available and you’re allowed 1 hour of complimentary WiFi which is good enough to get some work done without people living out of the cafe. There were less than 20 seats total so I’m sure teleworkers could easily invade this place and make seating constricted.

Coffee Quality:

The Espresso was well done. Creamy, great chocolate quality. They appear to exclusively use Black Cat Espresso Blend. 8/10

Chemex was a medium roast, and was well done but they did not use a scale which is fine…I don’t use one every time I brew a cup. Good flavor with low acidity. I’d score it 7/10

The V60 was similar to Chemex and not a big score differentiator. The pastries appear to be made on-site and the muffin I shared with Heather was fluffy, sweet and pretty darn good!

I’d go back here again and hopefully the street parking will be a bit easier. That’s probably the only complaint is that Littleton should add more parking spaces to make room for the bustling main street commerce that has emerged.
