★ Review: Soaring Wings Imperial Stout

Dark brown to black, almost no head. Aroma is really interesting. Lots of red-wine, very oak forward, a bit of charred wood. A lot of chocolate as well. Sweet, lots of residual sugars. chocolatey, oaky, tannic, lots of chocolate, good roast qualities. This is a really good beer. Pretty special. would love to try again.

I’d love to have more beers from this brewery. This was an impressive representation of the Imperial Stout style and despite this place being totally off the radar among beer geeks, it’s a place worth checking out.
