Linked: “Wired phones now in only half of U.S. households”

via GeekWire:

A new analysis of survey data by statistics portal Statista notes that landlines are now operational in roughly only 5 out of 10 U.S. households. That’s dramatically down from a decade ago, when 9 in 10 households had a working wired telephone network connection.

I’m surprised it’s that high. I have a landline and love it. You don’t realize how far we have to go on wireless call-quality, stability and reliability until you spend an hour on a land-line every day then someone calls your mobile and its like 2 cans and a string.
