Hill Farmstead Excursions #2

4.3

   AROMA 9/10   APPEARANCE 5/5   TASTE 7/10   PALATE 5/5   OVERALL 17/20

Thanks Heather for picking this up. 750ML filled 3 days ago split 2 ways in HF stemware @ 40F

A – Like most of these unfiltered Hill Farmstead IPAs, it’s incredibly cloudy a more burnt orange 3 finger sticky head with nice lacing. Very cloudy.

S – Nose is extremely juicy. Reminds me a lot of some of the Society series of Double IPAs. Very juicy. Smells sweet with a lot of orange.

T – Very mild resinous taste, refined sweetness, I get an orange skin and actually floral and herbal taste at the finish. Really hard to pinpoint everything going on here but the hop flavors are very juicy, tropical and floral. It’s really interesting yet so distinctively a Shaun Hill beer.

M – Mouthfeel is akin to the Society 4, 5 and 6 with a lot of what I tasted recently with some of the single hop IPAs. Not that helpful to people reading this but it’s a nice mineral water mouthfeel accentuating the hops. The overall mouthfeel reminds me of a dryer version of Alchemist’s double IPAs.

O – In a blind test, I’d say this was an 8.5% IPA with lots of citrus adjuncts, 10 different hops and a very clean yeast. It’s far less than that with such a huge taste. I love it.
