I like to pretend that I know what I’m talking about when it comes to distilled spirits but I don’t. I generally follow recommendations from friends or from store-staff and in this case, Binny’s has some selections of Scotch from Signatory and Masters of Malt and this was recommended as a nice low-peat high-age Cask strength Scotch.
I agree that it’s very good, maybe not worth $100 that I paid but it’s smooth enough with a very small amount of smoke that it’s worth grabbing if you are interested in older Speyside Scotch. It’s my first Signatory buy and won’t be my last. They aren’t the distiller, Auchroisk is but they buy up casks and do their own bottling and I was impressed.
