BIIR 4B Oude Gueuze - 2014 Lambic Series

3.5

   AROMA 9/10   APPEARANCE 3/5   TASTE 7/10   PALATE 2/5   OVERALL 14/20

UPDATED: NOV 17, 2014 I bought a bottle at Hopduvel Gent and acquired another in a trade. Opened with 77Ships and others in Gent, Belgium. Bottle was pretty cloudy.

A – Very cloudy (mostly due to be transported) with a bright yellow creamy 2 finger head that faded to some stickies.

S – The nose is really nice! Lots of lemon, lime. Very grape forward with a nice dryness. smells really really good!

T – Okay, so the taste falls short. It starts really nice and then you get a sweet candy like taste in the middle. finish goes back to basics with a nice dry finish with a touch of port wine. I think currently, this beer is too sweet for me with maybe candy and jolly rancher sour.

M – Decent mouthfeel. Champagne like

O – I’d like to see if this fades so I’ll grab some bottles to keep for a few years. Good gueuze out of the gate and can get way better with time.
