This is a top 50 beer on Ratebeer in the lambic-gueuze category…as usual, american wilds don’t compare to the real thing.

Bottle from Adam in Chicago maybe 2 years ago? Opened split 2 ways with a friend at 45 F in stemware. Allowed to warm / decant over time. Excited to try this one.A – Blood orange appearance, totally flat/still. Nothing at all going on.S – Nose is really nice. Lots of funky sour grapefruit, grape skins and leather with oak. Smells awesome.

T – Taste starts really nice. Lots of fruit, funk and sour bite. Around the middle, brett funk and shoe polish hit with a finish that is steel wool, copper penny, moldy fruit and rotten vegetables.

M – Still, metallic and sweet. Lots of residual sugars

O – This is just not very good. Starts great, smells great but the finish is horrible. Bottled Still which I don’t really believe too much as in it just didn’t carbonate? Probably won’t finish my glass.
