Another awesome beer from La Tache but damn the prices from these guys are insane. $27 for a 750ML saison. Hill Farmstead Arthur is $10 and Art is $15 and both are worlds better. I buy every beer I can find from this brewery but would not seek out or buy a 2nd bottle. They’re just too pricey.

Bottle at home, paid $27 at the local beer store here in Vermont. Crisp apple juice looking almost chardonay beer. nose is grapey, vinous and sweet. Taste is crisp and earthy. mild bitterness, almost like tangerine. Then it’s followed by fresh cut apples. very interesting and I’d have it again if the price were a bit lower.

  1. If I’m not mistaken, this guy brews on a very small scale basically in his shed and ferments 100% in oak barrels. If that’s the case, I don’t know how sustainable that is. I appreciate the craftiness behind his process but how long will these $27 bottles sell for?

    1. I’ve been told by 2 beer stores in VT that the distributor won’t be bringing any more of his beers to this state. I don’t know why but would assume it’s because a lot of them are sitting around. Most beer geeks picked some up, drank them then went back to drinking HFS Saisons that are $10 a bottle.

The guy and his vision are great and I appreciate what he’s doing and his beer is quite nice. the cost though is very prohibitive. I was in Portland OR thinking that the $27 we pay was just because of shipping but they are only $24 in Portland so even in his home state, they’re pricey bottles.
