Sean, my buddy in TN sent me a bottle and then I went to Portland and bought 2 more! Enjoyed at 45F split 2-ways with the GF in stemmed glasses.A – Head is fizzy and effervescent and fades quickly. it’s a murky / cloudy beer wit a few seeds and pieces floating around at the bottom. Blood red is probably too severe. More of a pink cherry color.
S – obviously, lots of cherry on the nose. There’s a sweetness that reminds me of a candied apple. I get lots of bourbon on the nose..very obviously there.
T – A very sweet beer, total candied cherries taste. Bourbon finish. Vanilla, coconut and oak obviously. Then there’s the floral hibiscus sweetness and honeysuckle sort of things going on. It’s insanely complex and very much a sweet and less boozy version of a classic manhattan.
M – Big, bubbly and bright
O – Not my favorite cascade beer but an A for complexity!
