UPDATED: NOV 18, 2013 2012/2013 batches from notes. 2013 consumed by myself on a Thursday. 2012 was with friends in a group tasting.
A – Looks just like chocolate rain in appearance. Pitch black, very oily with alcohol legs. no head.
S – Nose was full of burnt oak, liquor and chocolate.
T – aste was similar as CR but with a lot of boozy burn. Very little refinement compared to it’s beefier longer-aged counterpart. More cigarette butts and tobacco. Very little chocolate and very boozy throughout.
M – Pretty thin, insanely sweet looks like syrup swirling around the glass..makes me think someone should ice this into a 50% super sweet mess.
O – I prefer Chocolate rain and will likely prefer Grey Monday. It’s good but the booziness and sweetness wears on you after a pint.
