★ Review: 3 Fonteinen Oude Geuze (Armand & Tommy) – Review #1000

Aside from the week and a half on Beer Advocate, I’ve been on RateBeer since January 31st of 2012. 13 Months later, at nearly 3 beer reviews a day, I crossed the 1,000th beer review. My group tastings are limited to every few months so most of these reviews are just me rating bottles at home or at festivals. It’s been quite a bit of work.

I indicated a slow down on beer reviewing and this is true but, the last few weeks have been a blessing of two beer tastings and travel to 3 countries where all kinds of new things are available to try.

It’s unfortunate that the photos came out so poorly, usually I would have just not posted this but it was a personal milestone so here goes.

My 1,000th Beer Review!!! Enjoyed this at Fermentoren in Copenhagen with another RateBeer user at slightly below fridge temperature in a wine glass.A – Bright orange and a 2 finger creamy white head. Very persistent lacing! This beer really shines agains a candle.S – Loads of grapefruit and navels. Nice sharp Lemonhead acidity

T – Lemon peels. Very acidic plums? Very bright and acidic. Pretty juicy and sweet. Grapefruit acidity. Dry and floral finish

M – Very high carbonation for a gueuze and medium in body. Loving the dryness of this

O – This is currently the #1 gueuze on Rate Beer and it’s very delicious. However, I still link Lente is a better beer. This is quite incredible though.
