Acquired in a trade. I really enjoy these Boulevard beers. Enjoyed at 60F in a tulip. Very still, no head. The cork barely made it out of the bottle.A – Murky reddish brown. Still. No lacing at all.
S – Nice grape skin musk on the nose, cherries and lavender with some oaky tropical fruit scent.
T – Very tart and bitter up front. Bretty, dry and crisp in the middle. Last bit is a weird identify crisis and i get vanilla and charred smoke and bourbon.
M – No carbonation, light body. Very dry.
O – It’s a weird beer. I love the start and hate the finish.
I haven’t tried Love Child #2 yet. However, I was lucky enough to fall into a bottle of Love Child #1. I really enjoyed #1. It wasn’t terribly sour, and it had elements of dark fruits (figs, grapes) that went very nicely with the bourbon barrel presence. From the sounds of it, #2 is more sour and unbalanced.
