Acquired in a trade. 750ML C&C enjoyed at 59 Degrees F in a snifter.A – Pours a near midnight black. In the glass, pitch black, not viscous on the pour. 1 finger coffee colored head that fades almost instantly. Very interesting characteristics compared to other big stouts.

S – I can smell the bourbon as soon as the cork pops. In the glass, dark chocolate, heavy cocoa, freshly ground espresso beans dipped in chocolate. Lots of vanilla and heavy charred smokiness. Bourbon stays around for a while.

T – Wow. Up front, huge roasted dark malts. Smoked and chocolate malts. Some raisins and figs come through in the middle with a semi-sweet vanilla taste. The finish spicy licorice, coffee and cane sugar. Booziness sticks around.

M – The mouth feel is insane. The beer coats ever aspect of my mouth like a sip of bourbon. It tingles the front and middle of my tongue. Sticks around and remains chocolatey with booze. Heavy body, light carbonation.

O – This is an incredible beer. It’s not as great as BCBS or Damon or Speedway stout but, on its own, it stands strong and tastes fantastic.
