★ Review: Three Alpine Beer Reviews in ONE!

Beer Haul 10-24-12

First of all, a huge thanks to my regular and frequent trading partner, Ehammond1 in So-Cal. He’s always hooking me up with interesting beers and I’m grateful for his willingness to think of me when he gets something cool.

Enjoyed from a trade with my buddy Eric. Enjoyed in a tulip at fridge temperature.A – Straw gold appearance. No head formed.

S – TONS of simcoe on the nose, hints of pine cone and tangerine.

T – Taste is very nicely balanced. A combo of very low malts and a hint of bitterness from Simcoe and some other more piney and citrus hops. Some grassy characters. Sweet/bitter finish.

M – Medium carbonation and body

O – This is a nice beer. It’s very drinkable and the 7% ABV is VERY well hidden.

Thanks Eric! Enjoyed at 45F in a Tulip.A – Nice depth of bronze golden orange. No head.

S – Heavy hop bitterness. Tons of pine, hints of grapefruit.

T – Very interesting taste. Up front, it’s very sweet. This is followed by a piney hop bitterness. Lots of astringent characters and nice sort of tropical pineapple finish.

M – Heavier body than expected, light carbonation.

O – This is a very drinkable IPA. The 8% is well hidden. I was told it compares to HFS. It doesn’t but it’s still very good.

Thanks Eric for the bomber! Enjoyed at 50 Degrees F in a Tulip.A – Deep dark amber brown in the glass. No head, amber hues but ultimately, a very dark beer.

S – Lots of Fall spices in this beer loving the cinnamon and nutmeg and very raw sort of pumpkin innards on the nose.

T – Sort of an earthy musty up front taste, brown sugar and spices at the middle. Finish is VERY well balanced with spices and other goodness. Wow.

M – Medium body, light carbonation. This is very nice residual sweetness at the finish.

O – Nicely balanced beer! Very pleasant to drink.
