Acquired in a trade. Enjoyed at 65 Degrees F in a Hill Farmstead Glass.A – Huge head on cracking the cap open overflowing just a bit and filling my glass with a 4 finger head with great lacing that stuck around forever. The head itself faded to about 2 fingers and remained there. It’s a black beer…not midnight black but pretty dark!

S – Very interesting. Smells a bit tart with lacto and acetic properties and some roasted malts. A tad bit of coffee.

T – Sweet and a raspberry tart at the finish. Start is roasted malts, smoked malts (liquid smoke?) and very heavy toasted everything. The finish is what brings this all together with a cider raspberry sweetness which does eventually fade away revealing the smoke again.

M – very well carbonated, medium body and carbonation.

O – This is a great beer BUT it’s just too smoky for me. Everything else about it is nice and I do appreciate the cider characteristics. It tastes so much like a mild porter that got infected and was beefed up with some fruit additions.
