2009 Vintage. Acquired at Charles Street Liquors in Boston for $36. Enjoyed in a bordeaux wine glass at cellar temp around 60 F.A – Nice whisp pop of the cork. Bright golden clarity. 3-finger head that fades instantly.S – Sort of a nutty scent. Hints of honey, almonds and caramel.
T – Very heavy like cough syrup taste. Lots of orange and honey and very astringent finish. too heavy on the fake sugary taste.
M – Heavy carbonation, medium body.
O – This is pretty terrible. Just have champagne for the price.
I’ve always been curious about this one, given the price and MIchael Jackson talked about it quite a bit in his Belgian Beer book. BUt it just seemed too much like trying to make champaign out of malt. Kind of a pointless venture and too high of a risk at $30/bottle.
Yeah. It reminded me very much like Sam Adams Infinium. Better but not by much.
