Batch 69 bottle at City Beer Store SF. Served in a small taster at fridge temp. Paid $18

A – Hazy and dark orange. Decent head lacing and legs. Head gone instantly.

S – Smells like a belgian tripel. Woody and bready with some spices and candied sugar.

T – Tastes like a Saison. Some dark fruits with peaches and apricots dominating. Lots more bready yeast. Some lemongrass finish?

M – 40% carbonation. Medium body. Finish is very dry and sweet.

O – This is solid. Not was great as I expected.

’09 Vintage. Enjoyed in a very tall almost flute like glass. Beer served at fridge temp. Paid $25

A – Deep burnt orange with half a finger head. No lacing or legs. Slightly cloudy.

S – Standard horsey gueuze scent. Not a lot of apricot on the nose. Peach is more like it.

T – Very sweet and tart up front. Ropey characters and more bitterness than expected. Middle is sweet and mellow with the finish being very fruity with apricot and white wine taste taking over.

M – Very highly carbonated, light body

O – I can’t tell if this is better due to age or not. Scent is weak but taste is very fruity and enjoyable.
