If anyone is interested in seeing me act like a total n00b when doing research for this beer, here’s the thread on HomeBrewTalk. It’s been 3 weeks since this beer was brewed so it’s still very young but I stuck it in my fridge on Tuesday, legged it on Wednesday and took a pour this morning to see how things were going since I can force carb so things are a lot faster than waiting on carbonating to happen in the bottle.
Taste is still very dominant bitterness from the orange peels. I imagine this one will balance out nicely over time. The honey tastes great and the mouth feel is slightly thinner than I expected. Soon, I’ll do a side-by-side of the real Hennepin in my cellar to see how each compare.
I look forward to my beer gun arriving so I can start sharing these with friends. I have a case of 1 litre flip-top bottles ready to go.
