A – Wow. It is a Flanders Style Red so it poured a very murky plum brown with hints of red and violet. It’s a very gorgeous beer. Reminds me of a vintage Rodenbach Grand Cru. 2 Fingers of light brown head dissipates instantly to nothing.
S – Smells very nice. Up front, sweet ripe boiled cherries and heavy toasted oak. Very musty plum and tobacco scent and is almost exactly like a Rodenbach Grand Cru.
T – Once again. Rodenbach Clone? It’s very much a dilato flanders red ale. I get Cherries, Strawberries and sour grapes or dried grape skins. Big oak profile that stays with you for a very long time.
M – Very high carbonation, medium body and tartness that really dries out the mouth and leaves you thirsting for more.
O – I expected a lot more from this but, for what I had to go through to get it, I’d rather just pick up a Rodenbach at the Co-Op for $9. Yes, I’m crazy and it is good but, too difficult for me to acquire to give it soaring ratings.
