Last week, I picked up a new book. Actually, I was so excited I accidentally bought two copies. Next person to visit my cabin to enjoy some beers will get the 2nd copy of it. I’m on chapter 2 and have already learned so much. It’s an incredible book and, if you are a home brewer and also LOVE wild beers, you will find this book interesting for a few reasons. First, the style descriptions are excellent and help me rate beer better. There’s also a huge section on the history of these excellent tasting beers. Then, you learn how to brew your own. I doubt any of my future attempts will be any good but reading this book 2-3 times will help me on the journey. So far, Jeff has done a great job.

I haven’t read that yet but the owner of russian river brewing, vinnie cilurzo, called that book one of the definitive guides for making sour beers. Given the sour beers he makes, I’d say that’s a damn good recommendation.
We’ll see! The tasting of those beers and history is very interesting. I’m not yet to the making them section but since I have some sort of yeast culturing going, I wanna read this book a couple of times then jump right in
