So thrilled that a west coast trader scent me such a great box of IPAs. Received this last week, put it in the fridge and now pouring into a Hill Farmstead on a beautiful Sunday afternoon.

A – Gorgeous light red / orange appearance, SRM of 8. 2 Finger tan head subsiding quickly.

S – Huge bitterness of dry hops right off the bat. Lots of big hop profiles, grapefruit, pine and citrus. So damn nice smelling. There’s a tough of oak and wheat.

T – Whoa. Very very bitter! This beer is explosive but not long term. It hits you and then fades very fast. Not sure what technique was used but I like my hops to stick around for a while. The Chinook and Centennial hops are very easy to point out, bit of banana and apricots in here with a lingering dried fruit aspect on the finish.

M – 50/50 carbonation on the mouth swish. Medium body, smooth fruity finish.

O – I don’t know if this beer was just sitting on the shelf too long or not but it’s drinkable. I’d like to have it very fresh.

Acquired in a trade. Canned March 12th, 2012. Put it right in the fridge and poured into a Hill Farmstead Glass

A – SRM of 8. Golden orange appearance, some cloudiness on the pour that looked pretty resinous. Slightly off-white head of 2 fingers that subsided slowly leaving behind a super sticky lacing on every corner of the glass.

S – Gigantic citrus notes. A hint of resin and a minor bit of pine but very little.Nice big hop characteristics followed by some herbs.

T – Spicy Vanilla is what I get first. Peppered Vanilla? Not too sure. Backbone of pine, grass and tangerines. Lemon zest and some basil.

M – Medium body, 80% carbonation on the mouth swish. Lingering orange peel taste

O – Delicious. It’s a solid IPA with extra points for being canned. Would be a great fishing companion.
