Thanks to a generous Southern NH trader who sent me this. Kept it around for a week, poured into a Hill Farmstead glass at 55 Degrees F.
A – 1-Finger dark leathery head subsided to a quarter finger. Dark brown to black pour, reminds me of cheap motor oil.
S – Gigantic mal smells. Roasted and smoked malts with a bit of chocolate and german bock scent. Mild hop profile
T – Coffee and cocoa come through first, mild bit of wood but a fleeting sweetness and sour taste that hurts the beer at the back of the tongue. Starts off great, dies down fast to a bad taste.
M – 80/20 carbonation, light body
O – Smell and initial taste are good but this beer is no B in my book. Not worth having again and disappointing.
